Christmas Oatmeal Cookies

1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. oatmeal

Shape into small balls. Press 1/2 cherry on top of each cookie. Bake at 375 degrees 10-12 minutes.
