Melt in Your Mouth Sugar Cookies 2 Sticks butter or margarine; softened
1 c Vegetable oil
1 c Sugar
1 c Powdered sugar; sifted
2 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla extract
4 1/2 c All purpose flour
1 ts Baking soda
1 ts Cream of tartar
1 ts Salt
Combine butter, oil and sugars. Beat well at medium speed. Add eggs one at
a time, beating after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Combine flour, soda,
salt and cream of tartar in a medium bowl. Add to creamed mixture, beating
well. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar (dip glass in dough first, so
sugar will stick). Bake a 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Yield - 8 dozen
